FITZ RITZ: FULL FLOWER MOON BAND + FOGGY NOTION + BITUMEN + TB RIDGE AS THE DIRECTOR at The Old Bar (Fitzroy, VIC) on Saturday, 12 February 2022
Welcome to the time machine. Sixties, nineties, two-thousand and twenties, it's all here. We begin with rock n roll solo act TB Ridge as Director, journeying into guitar soaked rock n roll. Follow this with post-punk nineties dreamboats Bitumen and contemporary cowboys Foggy Notion. Full Flower Moon Band tops the bill with an eccentric, trip-heavy psych set. Live in the now.

Full Flower Moon Band
Those lucky enough to catch Full Flower Moon Band live have described their unhinged rock and roll as fierce, sensual and powerful. Karen O, is that you?Led by rock prodigy Kate Babyshakes Dillon, the band features a rotating roster of live members; creating an electric, psychedelic and performance-art atmosphere. Tune in for "spaced out, Bowie-esque psych experiments" in "a Velvet Underground opiate haze." Savor the psych.

Foggy Notion
A unique group known for driving rhythms, high energy live shows, blunt lyricism and country swagger. A rollicking combination of harmonica, slide guitar captivating vocals, Foggy Notion sways freely between alt-country and 60s garage rock with loads of ramshackle charm tying it all together. Tap yer boots and nod yer akubra to this!

Bitumen
Industrial post-punk with sugar-soaked vocals that are reminiscent of a 90s aesthetic. The driving, metallic barrage of Bitumen’s signature sound presents dramatic synth and layered guitar and vocals. This is post-punk that's shiny, bright and direct – a little Primal Scream and a bunch of metal.

TB Ridge as Director
Rock n Roll, but not as you know it. Add drum machine, synth, strings, a vocoder, GarageBand and an ipad and you might get close to the loops and layers of TB Ridge as Director; Tom Ridgewells new rock moniker. The first EP 'Rock n Roll heart' references a Lou Reed lyric, and there is more than a nod to the guitar sound of sixties counterculture. The strumming of a subculture.
