AUGUST AUZINS (SYD)

August Auzins emerged from the remnants of Sydney's most feral post-punk outfit City Rose, born out of songwriter Hunter Auzins' desire to capture twisted beauty of his hometown - Sydney. The project was conceived in a Brisbane hotel room during a tour with Bristol hero’s IDLES, where inspired by one band members coked up ramblings, Hunter envisioned a platform to tell stories of betrayal, hypocrisy, unrequited love- with an alter-ego who wasn’t afraid to tell the truth. 

In 2021, August collaborated with Jonathon Boulet and Kirsty Tickle of Party Dozen, releasing four tracks that featured Jon’s production and Kirsty’s saxophone. Following a sold-out single launch at Sydney's Factory Floor, the city entered lockdown. Hunter used this pause to step away from the stage and indulge the very time consuming process of learning how to be a decent person. 

Now, having wasted his time , August Auzins comes to Naarm the first time  - an unrepentant wanker - with a hard earned body of work writ in possum blood, sweat and joy - thrilled to release the first single of his debut album HOPE ZERO.
