HUGO VAN BUUREN - Launch
HUGO VAN BUUREN has been quietly expanding his practice well beyond its alt-folk roots - stretching out and finding home in the friction between the organic/synthetic, gentle/firm, continuous/discrete. Recent singles ‘Copper Mouth’ and ‘Two Rivers’ have marked the beginning of a more unfiltered chapter, with his sophomore EP ‘Two Truths’ set for release on Thur Nov 7. Hugo will be joined by his full band to celebrate on release day at The Old Bar along with very special guests Sandy Hsu and Polje Nieuk opening the night.
SANDY HSU is a multidisciplinary artist and singer-songwriter whose practice explores themes of the divine feminine, grief, desire, beauty, cultural ties and her diasporic identity. A collection of vivid storytelling entwined with expansive sonic landscapes, Sandy’s music has the ability to settle itself in the chambers of a listeners heart.
POLJE NIEUK is the sound-based collaborative project of dylan marelić and grzegorz dalmata. Their music practice is process-driven, combining DIY electro-acoustics, field recordings, synthesizers, and speech elements.
